MEETING MINUTES
February 1, 2012
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by President Krieg at 7PM.
GUESTS: Bob Hoag was introduced. He is from Bridgeport Connecticut and has been here 6 years. He does not own a vintage vehicle at this time but enjoys cars and our meetings.
SECRETARY REPORT: The Minutes from the last meeting was posted on the club’s Web Site. A motion for approval was made, seconded, and approved.
NEW MEMBERS: Our Guest Bob Hoag joined after the meeting.
TREASURER REPORT: Treasurer Bushyeager reported the club has 62 paid members for 2012. The bank balance is $1,148. He will be contacting those members who have yet to pay 2012 dues.
OLD BUSINESS: President Krieg discussed the Winter Party which was held at the Yacht Club January 28, 2012. We had 50 members and guests attend.
President Krieg updated the members on the Delta Queen trip in Chattanooga. The dates have changed and are now March 13 and 14. We will be participating in the ‘Winter Package’ which includes a 2 night deluxe room, breakfast, and a voucher for dinner for 1 night. Cost of $235.00 per couple includes taxes and gratuities. Payment must be made tonight with a check payable to TVVV and given to President Krieg. NO REFUNDS. Tours for Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon include VW, Coker Tire, Chickamauga, Tow Truck Museum, IMax Theater, Fish Tank, and Lookout Mtn.
We continued the discussion of memorials for deceased members. A suggestion was made from the floor that a way to fund memorial Bricks would be to hold a 50/50 raffle to help pay for cost of the brick.
NEW BUSINESS: President Krieg solicited ideas from the members for future Club activities and trips. He stressed the need to have overnight trips which will help the members better know each other. He would like to see 2 trips per year. Please bring any ideas to any board member or bring them up at a future meeting.
Vice President West proposed that the Wednesday lunch for February be held at the Herman McGhee collection of classic Fords. The location is on TN 72 just south of US 411. Mr. McGhee is very anxious to have us visit.
Steve also mentioned he was recently interviewed for an upcoming show on Chanel 3. He will announce when the air date is.
Vice President Doolittle mentioned 2 potential trips:
1. Ducktown TN to tour the museum and view the old copper mine.
2. Fabric museum in Englewood TN
ANNOUNCEMENTS: A raffle was conducted for those that had dinner in the Club.

JANUARY 4, 2012
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Vice President West at 7PM. He remarked on a very favorable article about the club in a recent Connection. Due to that article we had 2 guests for the meeting.
GUESTS: Bruce Pippin was introduced. He has been in the area for 8 years and has a 1999 Jaguar convertible.
Bob Hoag was introduced. He is from Bridgeport Connecticut and has been here 6 years.

OLD BUSINESS: Vice President West reminded everyone to pay their dues as quickly as possible.
Steve West reported on the last Wednesday outing. It was held at the Bobby Holloway Hot Rod Shop in Louisville. 18 members attended.
Doc discussed the Winter Party to be held at the Yacht Club January 28 2012. Cocktails at 6pm, dinner at 7pm. dancing with DJ Lou Ney Tunes Cost are $35.00 per person. Buffet main dishes are Beef Stroganoff and Roast Pork.
Alex updated the members on the Delta Queen trip in Chattanooga. The dates are March 16 and 17. 20 rooms have been reserved. Cost is $89 for a regular (twin beds) room, $99 for a deluxe (queen bed) room. Price includes 2 full breakfasts Saturday and Sunday. Tours for Friday and Saturday afternoon could include VW, Coker Tire, Chickamauga, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Lookout Mtn.
Doc agreed to be the contact person for the Club. Details for making reservations are contained in an EMAIL sent by Alex on Friday January 6 to all members with an E mail address on file.
NEW BUSINESS: Vice President West solicited ideas from the members for future Club activities and trips. Please bring any ideas to any board member or bring them up at a future meeting.
There was continued discussion on the method the Club would use to honor deceased members. The Library was not keen on the plaque idea. They suggested that the Club could buy a book for use in the Library collection. An insert in the book would indicate in whose name the book was purchased and a letter would be sent to the family. An amount of $25.00 or greater for the donation was suggested. An alternative to the library could be a donation to the village Fire Department. Other TV Clubs purchase bricks. There will be further discussion on this topic at future meetings.

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by President Krieg at 7PM
GUESTS: Joe and Linda Kushmaul were introduced. They have moved from Michigan and own a 1969 Chevelle Conv. and a 2008 Corvette and will be building in Toqua.
Marty Morema was introduced. He and wife Peggy are from the Chicago Ill. area. They have a 1946 International Harvester Pick Up.

NEW MEMBERS: The President announced 2 new members. Joe Kushmaul, and Paul Deutch.
TREASURER REPORT: Treasurer Bushyeager reported the club has 69 members and 34 have paid dues for 2012. The bank balance is $870.
OLD BUSINESS: President Krieg reminded everyone to pay their dues as quickly as possible.
Steve West reported on the next Wednesday outing. It will be on December 21, 11am at the Bobby Holloway Hot Rod Shop in Louisville. 10 members indicated interest. Lauren will promote the event via the web site.

Cost is $89 for a regular (twin beds) room, $99 for a deluxe (queen bed) room. 20 members expressed interest. President Krieg discussed a possible day trip to tour the new Volkswagen plant. A number of members expressed support so he will follow up.
NEW BUSINESS: President Krieg presented the Officers for 2012. They are Jere Krieg, President; Steve West, Vice President: Mike McCoy, Secretary; Gerry Bushyeager, Treasurer; Past President, Jim Baughman; Appointed Directors: Doc Doolittle, Publicity; John Hallstrand, Webmaster. He explained that going forward the President would move to Past President, the Vice President would move to President, the Secretary would move to Vice President, and a new Secretary would be appointed.
President Krieg discussed changes as to how the Club honors its deceased members. Going forward, instead of sending a donation to a favorite charity of the deceased, the club would make a donation to a deserving charitable entity in the village, for example the Library, in the name of the deceased. The dollars would stay in the Village and benefit everyone in the village. The exact format of the donation will need to be determined.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: A raffle was conducted for those that had dinner in the Club.

T.V.V.V. CAR CLUB MINUTES NOVEMBER 2, 2011
New Members: Pete Parker – ’42 Ford, John Thomason – ’07 Corvette, Paul Doitsh – ’04 Mercedes Roadster. Welcome to our club! (Please forgive me if your name is misspelled, I didn’t get a chance to verify the spelling).
Treasury Report: To date we have $494 and 67 members for 2011 and three new members for 2012.
Old Business: The October 8th trip over to Coker Creek in the Tellico Plains area. Toured the Museum in Tellico Plains and had lunch at the ‘Nuttin Fancy’ Restaurant across the street. Nine vehicles car pooled then to Coker Creek area for a good old Country Fair afterward. It was a beautiful sunny fall day and everyone seemed to have a good time! Good job Doc Doolittle for arranging this for us!! New Business:
Mark January 20th on your calendars for our annual after Xmas club party at the Yacht Club. It is $35.00 per person with dinner and dancing! Sign-up at the December 7th club meeting at our new location on the 3rd floor of the Tellico Village Yacht Club. Dinner before starting at 5:00 p.m., with the meeting starting at 7:00 p.m.
Upcoming Outing: Steve West is working on a possible outing for a custom rod builder Bobby Alloway shop tour. Might happen after the holidays. We’ll keep you posted when it happens. Thanks Steve!

T.V.V.V. CLUB MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 5, 2011
Guests: Carolyn Rosen came to the meeting for her friend Jack Rose and his 1987 Mercedes Convertible. They will be attending other outings together. Welcome to you both! Treasurers Report: Our treasury went down a bit after our recent club party at the Keiths. It now stands at $499.00 with 66 paid members.
Old Business: Steve West reported on our outing to Somerset, Kentucky on the 24th of Sept. He had 9 vintage cars caravan together and also 15 corvettes went. The hotrods all parked together on the street, with the corvettes in another area. It was a salute to Corvettes wk-end with over 200 in attendance! Very well run event, beautiful day and lots of cool cars to see. I heard there were over 1500 cars in attendance! Steve had a great dinner organized afterward at the local Guthrie’s Restaurant, food was great! Good Job Steve!
Special Thanks to Errol Keith and his wife for hosting our club party on 9/17 at their home. Most people drove their hotrods, and everyone enjoyed the barbeque dinner. D. J. music played by Lou Robitalle. Good Job everyone!
September luncheon was held at the Sequoya Grill on the lake. Lions Club Car Show on 10/1/11 had 12 cars from the club in attendance.
Coker Creek Fall Festival – 10/8/11: Doc Doolittle arranged an outing to the Coker Creek Fall Festival on Saturday. It turned out to be a beautiful fall day for us that attended. We first went to Tellico Plains to the Visitors Center and adjoining museums. Later had lunch across the street at the ‘Nuttin Fancy’ restaurant on their outside patio. After lunch we all drove up to Coker Creek to the festival. Lots of arts & crafts and of course more food! Thanks Doc!
CONGRATULATION S TO PERRY ANTHONY! Perry was invited to attend a show held at Louisville, Ky. recently held at Churchill Downs Race Course. There were 180 cars in attendance. His 1955 Ford Thunderbird Convertible took 2nd place in the show for his class!
Lunch/Color Tour on the 19th: Doc Doolittle is inviting everyone to the Tugaloo Picnic Area on the 19th for a barbeque/chicken lunch with a color tour up to Smokey Mtn National Park/Sugarland Visitor Center afterward. Be at Tugaloo at 11:00 for lunch; bring desert to pass if you wish and what you would like to drink. Hot Rods are mandatory if the sun is shining! See you then……
October Fest at the Tennessee Valley Winery: Oct. 29th, 1 to 5 pm pig pickin’ and the fixings, souvenir wine glass, discount on all wines. RSVP by 10/17 $25.00 RSVP, $30.00 at door. Hotrods usually get up front parking! Call 865-986-5147 for reservation. Music provided by ‘Plan 9’.
CLUB LOCATION CHANGING! As of Nov. 2nd the club will be relocating to the Tellico Village Yacht Club for our meetings. The meetings will be held at 7:00 pm in the upstairs 3rd floor meeting room with dinner seating starting at 5:00 pm in the dining room. We will be ordering off the full menu and many items are priced similarly to like items on the Tanasi menu.
Car Club Xmas Party Date: Mark 1/29/12 down in your new calendar for our annual after Xmas club party! It will be held at the Yacht Club with dinner and dancing. This is a formal party so dress accordingly. More info to follow.

Guest Introductions: Larry Baker came with his beautiful 2010 Red Corvette, he and his wife are from Adrian, Michigan. Also Russ Heimforth with his 1990 Buick Riatta Convertible and is also from Michigan.
Treasurers Report: We have $1353.00 in our club treasury to date.
Club Officer Nominations: The club is looking for volunteers to take over several positions on the board for the 2012 year. They are two year nominations, if anyone is interested please contact the President Jere Krieg at his new email address - Jerekrieg@gmail.com
Wednesday Luncheons: Our last Wednesday luncheon was held at the Log Cabin Restaurant which was rebuilt from a fire last year. Everyone said the food and service was good. The luncheons are always on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, meeting at the Village Home Center Parking lot at 11:00 am. Party at the Neighborhood:
Kathy Manners has invited our club to attend their ‘Hawaiian Luau’ on 9/13 at 5:00 p.m. They would like you to drive your hot rod for a drive-by before the party.
Also on 9/17 they are having a dance party starting at 6:00 p.m. with heavy hor d’oeuvres. September 17th Club Party: Errol Keith is hosting our fall club party at his home on 9/17 at 5:30 p.m. He lives at 200 Oologila Place in the Village. His phone no. is 865-458-4277. To get to his house from 444 take Milauqua Road next to the hardware store and follow it till you come to Elohi Way, you will see a sign that says ‘Milauqua Point’ bear to the left to Noya Way to the right, go to the 3rd street down which is Oologila Place – 1st house on the left. Errol said if the ground is dry everyone can park on his property. BYOB for drinks, chairs and a dessert or appetizer to share! Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
September Club Outing: Our club outing to Somerset, KY. is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 24th. Steve West has been planning this outing and asks the nine couples that are coming to meet at the North Boat Ramp on 444 at 8:00 a.m. We will all caravan together to KY It has been suggested that you pack a lunch as there will be a wait when we get near the area to get an assigned parking spot. He has arranged for our hotel and later on we have dinner reservations together at a local restaurant. Looking forward to seeing lots of Corvettes and Hot Rods all day long! On Sunday morning after breakfast, Craig Lyons has arranged a side trip to a local race shop called Jack Cornett Racing. He specializes in building race engines for Dirt Late Model Cars and World of Outlaws Sprint Cars. He has been voted Engine Builder of the Year for each series three years in a row! ALS Memorial Walk: The ALS Association is having their annual memory walk at Arthur Ash Park near Western Ave. in Knoxville on 9/24 for those who might like to participate. One of the club members, Don Voorhis, passed away from this disease.
Coker Creek Outing: Doc Doolittle spoke about an event being held in the Coker Creek area call the ‘Autumn Gold Festival’ the wk-end of October 8th. There will be crafts, cars, and music. It is south of Tellico Plains. Ought to be a fun event!

Guests: Steve Bartolone arrived in his 1946 Chevy P/U Truck, and his wife Joyce drove her 1967 Teal Corvair convertible! Big hit for the after meeting car browsing.
Treasurers Report: Gerry Bushyeager reported that the club has $1340 and 63 members to date.
Item: Car Club shirts are available in Yellow with your name on it also. They are around $25. Let Gerry Bushyeager know if you're interested.
Old Business: Club Picnic on 6/23 was a big success with lots of auction items!
July 3rd parade route signs were put into place by Loren Lesh and friends. Good Job!
Our first time Car Club display in front of the Yacht Club on the 4th was a success. Twenty one cars were present and a good time was had by all with food, drink and fireworks!
Club License Plates: Car Club Logo plates are being offered again at $16 each. They are made of aluminum. See Jere Krieg if interested at one of our meetings.
Calhoun’s Restaurant, Lenoir City is offering Thursday night’s to display your hotrod and get a $5 off dinner coupon.

September Kentucky Cruise: Steve West is organizing a club cruise to Somerset, Kentucky for an overnight and display on the streets of the town. There will be an enormous number of cars attending! He has reserved a block of rooms at Quality Inn at 606-678-2023; mention ‘Village Vettes’ for the group rate. There will be door prizes and a group dinner on Saturday night. We're looking to leave early from the Village Hardware on Saturday morning. More details will follow.
‘Shades of the Past’ Car Show – Coming up on 9/10/11/11 at Dollywood. You need to be pre-registered to display car.
Pure Gas Issues: Jere Krieg spoke about the availability of Pure Gas for older cars. A national website, Puregas.com tells you where to buy straight gas in other places. Jere has more info on this issue. NOTE: This web address as well as local stations that have pure gas have been posted on the website FORUM page under GENERAL DISCUSSION.

T.V.V.V. Club Meeting Minutes June 1, 2011
Guests: Ken Cooper and his wife Denise from Rarity Bay. They have a ’37 Red Ford Coupe street rod and also a Corvette.
Also Bruce Daub who has a ’62 Willeys Truck and a Horseless Carriage which is a replica of Henry Ford’s.
Deanna Bushyeager is out and about now and came to this meeting. We were all glad to see her doing so well!
New Business: Jere Krieg spoke about how the club is handling policy and growth and any problems that might arise.
Old Business: Jerry Bushyeager reported we have over $1100 in our account.
The recent Chilhowee Park Hot Rod Show was very successful and three of our club members attended. There were over 2200 cars in attendance and it didn’t rain!
ORNL Event: 5/18 – Alex Gabbard reported it was very successful. Twenty people attended this event. Participants received ‘goody bags’ when they arrived. They were greeted by Ray Smith, ORNL Historian.
Civil War Tour: 5/21 – Doc Doolittle reported on this event. He did his homework and mapped out an excellent tour in the Monroe County areas. We also had lunch at ‘Nuttin Fancy’ in Tellico Plains later on. He is looking into future tours to Blount County and Coker Creek areas. Car Club Picnic –
6/23 – Picnic will be held at the Tugaloo Pavillian off Hwy 444 at 4:30 pm. They need a headcount by 6/19. You can also bring a dish to pass if you want to. A ‘White Elephant Auction’ will follow dinner. Please bring your old treasures for this!
July 3rd Village Parade of Cars! Looking for several participants to parade throughout our village streets on July 3rd before the party held at the Village Plaza area afterward. Call Loren Lesh for more info on this.
Yacht Club 4th of July festivities! Yacht Club is hosting a party this year and is inviting 20 of our club members to bring their hot rods to display at 6:00 p.m. on the front lawn. You will in turn get two tickets per couple for food/music that evening. Bring car earlier about 5:00 p.m. for parking spot. Fireworks will cap off the evening! Call John Hallstrand for more info.
Club License Plates: Club plates will be available painted or unpainted for those who want them. The price is $14.00 each.
Future Club Trip: Steve West spoke about the 9/23 & 24th cruise to Somerset, Ky. They are having a wk-end car show and several have shown interest in cruising there and attending for the wk-end. He has rooms reserved at the nearby Quality Inn & Suites Hotel for $69 a night. Call 606-678-2023 to reserve your room if you plan on attending! More details will follow.
Pee Dees Fab Shop – Athens, Tenn. Steve West suggested a future tour to this fabrication shop to see his operation and some of his cars on display.
Cruise Nights: Thursday nights at Calhoun’s Restaurant in Lenoir City. If you bring your car to display you will get a coupon for $5.00 off your meal inside!

T.V.V.V. CAR CLUB MEETING MINUTES MAY 4, 2011
New Members/Guests: Club welcomes Ron & Connie Stanley as new members. He just got a new Red 2010 Corvette Coupe. Guests were John & Kate Haley with their 1969 Chrysler Convertible and Harry Eblen with his 1964 Corvette. Club welcomes you!
Treasurers Report: Jerry Bushyaeger reported we have a grand total of $1195.00 in our club account and 58 paid members to date!
Old Business: Doc Doolittle reported on the 4/20 Wednesday luncheon held at the Hot Rod Café in Maryville. Twelve people attended and afterward went to Ralph Wright’s Garage to see his specialty car work and display.
May 6th wk-end featured the Street Rod Nats held at the Chilhowee Park in Knoxville. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny wk-end featuring hundreds of great cars and trucks! Not to forget the shopping for the men and the women in the main hall on top of the hill.
May 18th we are scheduled to go to Oak Ridge National Labs with Alex Gabbert for a day trip. Meeting for breakfast & lunch. You will need two photo i.d.’s for this day.
Saturday, May 21st is our Monroe County Civil War Tour. Meet at the Village Hardware at 9:00 a.m. to get into car pools. This will be a 4-5 hour tour so bring water/snacks. Lunch will be in Tellico Plains. We will also see the movie ‘The Conspirators’ with Robert Redford about the ‘Lincoln Assassination’. We will travel thru-out Vonore, Sweetwater & Tellico Plains areas.
License Plate Issue: The club has decided to not pursue the plate in the shape of the State of Tennessee due to cost issues. Instead they are offering our previous club logo plate with an orange background for $20. It can also be ordered unpainted same price.
Club Picnic: June 23rd – Thursday – at the Tugaloo Pavilion off Hwy 444 is our annual car club picnic. We will also hold a White Elephant Auction afterward. Bring items with you for the auction. Starts at 4:00 pm, no charge to members.
Future Trip: Steve West proposed a club trip to Somerset, Ky. September 23rd wk-end. This would be an overnight about 120 miles each way. Cruise there in our hotrods and display in their downtown district with lots of other cars! More details will follow.
4th of July Wk-end Parade: Loren Lesh is organizing club cars to parade thru out the village on July 3rd and needs volunteers to place route signs thru out the village before hand. See him at the meeting.
Club Well Wishes: Deanna Bushyaeger is bravely fighting Cancer at this time. We would like to wish her well, and let her know we are all pulling for her!

T.V.V.V. CLUB MEETING MINUTES - APRIL 6, 2011
New Members: Welcome to Bob and Pat Freeman, Rick and Pat Chappell.
Treasurer’s Report: We currently have $1176.00 in our club account with 56 members to date.
Future Activities: It was mentioned again about the proposed antique license plates. Jim Baughman had a template of the club plate for all to see. It is in the shape of the State of Tennessee. Duplicate of an older version of the state plate. No decision has been made as to the cost of the ‘dies’ to create this. We would need an order of at least 30-50 plates to make this a worthwhile venture.
May 6th wk-end at the Street Rod Nats at Chilhowee Park, Knoxville. Polish your hot rod and show it off or just wander around to see some really neat cars!
On April 20th in Oak Ridge, the Blackwell Security Complex is available for group tours. We will meet at the Popular Springs Boat Ramp at 8:00 am to carpool. I.D. is required, proof of citizenship, etc. Bring your Passport if you have one. (Web Note: This event has been postponed and will be rescheduled)
May 21st is the tentative date for our Civil War Trails outing in Monroe County. This should be an interesting day of exploring some of the civil war trails in our area. We will meet at the Village Hardware at 9:00 am and form carpools to the Vonore, Tellico Plains & the Sweetwater areas. It could take around 6 hrs. or so.
New Product: ‘Gas Shok’ a fuel additive for those who use ethanol fuel and have an older carbureted engine. It would be added to your fuel upon fill-up and would cost $37.00 a bottle. Our member Bill Southwick can get it for you. See him at or next meeting.
Got some event ideas? If you have any good ideas for a club wk-end trip, please share them with us at our next meeting. - One such idea was presented by Steve West to cruise to Somerset, Kentucky for a antique car show they hold thru-out the spring and summer months. Another idea is to go to the Loudon Cherry Bomb Muffler Factory. -
Ft. Loudon Hospital in Lenoir City has offered a hospital tour and free lunch if we would like to come and bring our cars for everyone to see.
Where are all the 2010 club pictures? We are still looking for neat club pictures you might have taken last year to add to our club scrapbook. Bring them with you to our next meeting on the 4th of May.

T.V.V.V. CLUB MEETING MINUTES March 18, 2011
New Members: Mr. Leland Felgner was introduced as a new member and said he has Ford Model A that is still on the road. He said he inherited it from his Grandfather.
Treasurers Report: We currently have $1300 in our account with 55 members to date.
Future Activities: It was mentioned again about the proposed antique license plates. Jim Baughman had a template of the club plate for all to see. It is in the shape of the state of Tennessee. Duplicate of an older version of the states plate. Waiting to hear what the ‘dies’ would cost to create this. Will need an order of at least 30-50 plates to make this a worthwhile venture.
May 6th wk-end. Don’t forget the Street Rod Nats at Chilhowee Park. Polish your hotrod and show it off or just wander around and see some neat cars!
Civil War Trails in Monroe County. Tentatively on May 24th there will be an outing to explore some civil war trails in the Monroe County area. I am not sure at this time who is leading this trip. More info will follow. We will meet at the Village Hardware and form carpools to the Vonore, Tellico Plains & Sweetwater areas. Could be about 6 hrs or so.
Alex Gabbard spoke about a car show in Oakridge on 3/19 at the Grove Center. They expect about 400 people to attend. Alex will also be the guest speaker between 11-2pm speaking about his book written about the early “Thunder Road” experience. The car event is free. They will also be showing the early film called “Thunder Road” with Robert Mitchum. There will be a $5.00 admission to the movie. The event will be held at 122 Randolph Road, Oakridge, Tn.
Got some event ideas? If you have any good ideas for a event or wk-end trip for our club members please share with us at the next meeting! -One such idea was proposed to cruise to Somerset, Ky.
