SOLD! 1966 Ford Thunderbird

Ford Thunderbird – 1966 Convertible with Tonneau.

Very nice older repainted triple black with 390 cid [ 6000 miles on Ford remanufactured engine]. Originally Ivy Yellow in color. Early ’66 produced on 9/14/65 and delivered to the Houston, Tx. District. Bird has power brakes and steering , door locks as well as rare air conditioning…all working well.

I have owned the Bird since 1974 driving it regularly. Placed in long term climate controlled dead storage in ’83 until ’09.

Bird has complete new fuel , power brake and exhaust systems plus radiator core, numerous electrical components, rear pinion axle seal, carpet and complete tune up. New tires, battery and trunk interior makes it ready to go!

The car runs out very strong.

Power top and trunk mechanism work perfectly with new components. Power windows, seat all work.

Front seat has seam tear [ 4”] and factory tonneau has small “chip” at top.

Chrome bumpers are fair/good and console chrome trim has holes where a CB was initially installed. Minor lower rear quarter bubbles under paint on both sides but otherwise good and straight. Some minor paint chipping on body and tonneau has rub marks from the top. Deluxe spinner wheel covers reasonably good. Stainless trim is good throughout. Original door panels are fair to good with minor wear at hand grasp. Glass is good throughout.

Bird needs a new top eventually although the existing top is very serviceable and presentable.

Not a concours car but a fine example of a great American design. Last of the Convertibles. An eye catching black beauty that is ready for a new owner.

Delivery can be arranged and inspection encouraged. Car is located in the Knoxville, Tn, USA area
